Exploring Science, Fun and Nutrition: The Interactive Summer Lunch Program at College-Rolando Library.

Science Fun with Mad Science and Fleet Science Center on Tuesdays

Enjoy interactive and engaging STEM education with the Free Summer Lunch at the Library program. This grant-funded initiative offers youth ages 0-18 and their families an opportunity to participate in STEM Tuesdays featuring presentations by Mad Science and Fleet Science Center. These demonstrations explore topics like the science of sound and chemical reactions, making science fun for everyone involved. The program kicked off with Fleet Science Center on June 11 followed by Mad Science on June 18.

In addition to the free meals, families can enjoy fun enrichment programs available every day of the week at College-Rolando Library. From Monday to Friday, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., families can participate in the grant-funded FREE lunch for youth program. Whether you’re looking for a fun activity or just need a break from your busy schedule, there’s something for everyone at this unique library experience.

The weekly Summer Lunch events at the library include Movie Mondays, STEM Tuesdays, Storytelling Wednesdays, Community + Craft Thursdays, and Fun Fridays which offer activities like puzzles, board games, chess, and LEGOs for families to enjoy together. The Free Summer Lunch program will run until August 2nd, so be sure to check out the full schedule of events on our online calendar at sandiego.gov/public-library/locations/college-rolando-library before you go!
