Investigating the Effects of Infertility and the Quest for a Longer Life

Infertility is a common health issue that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Various health problems, such as endometriosis, low sperm count, ovulatory disorders, and low testosterone can cause infertility. In this week’s episode of “What’s Health Got to Do with It?” hosted by Dr. Joe Sirven on WJCT in Jacksonville, the topic of infertility is explored in detail.

Adinah Johnson, a retired psychology professor, marriage coach, and author of “Butterfly Blue: The Pain of Infertility and the Power of Forgiveness,” shares her personal story of dealing with infertility on the program. Additionally, Dr. Laura Mauri, senior vice president and chief scientific, medical, and regulatory officer at Medtronic joins the discussion to talk about increasing lifespan.

While many people have not had conversations with their healthcare providers about longevity due to various reasons such as seeing it as unnecessary or not knowing what questions to ask. However, a recent survey conducted by Medtronic revealed that 80% of Americans believe technology can assist them in living longer and healthier lives yet only 18% are currently utilizing it. The program provides insights into how healthcare technology can address these concerns and help individuals lead healthier lives.
