Kreeta Karvala has been selected by Kauppalehti to become their next Brussels correspondent. Currently working in the politics and editorial department of Iltalehti, Karvala will assume her new role in November and is excited for the opportunity. Saara Koho, who has been serving as Kauppalehti’s current Brussels correspondent since 2021, will be stepping down from her position.

Karvala is a seasoned journalist with experience working at Yleisradio and Iltalehti. She is also a familiar face on TV current affairs programs where she analyzes Finnish politics. Some of the current topics that interest her include defense and security policy, NATO, Ukraine support, climate policy, and Europe’s competitiveness in the face of economic competition. The monetary policy of the European Central Bank also impacts the lives and finances of all Finns.
