Experience the Magic of Total Solar Eclipse from Frost Science’s Rooftop Viewing Party in Miami!

Join us at Frost Science for a partial solar eclipse viewing celebration

The highly anticipated total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024, will cast a shadow over a significant portion of the United States. This celestial event, which will stretch from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast, is expected to be one of the most significant astronomical occurrences of the year.

While Miami will not be directly in the path of totality this time, it will still experience a partial solar eclipse. The eclipse will begin at 1:47pm and reach its peak at 3:01pm when 45% of the sun will be obscured. The event will end at 4:13pm.

Frost Science is hosting a partial solar eclipse viewing party on April 8th starting at noon. The museum, located on the waterfront, will offer special programming throughout its galleries and planetarium focusing on the science and history of eclipses. Guests can observe the partial solar eclipse from six levels within the museum while protecting their eyes with solar viewers. Frost Science provides goggles for free with ticket purchase or bring your own pair.

The viewing party includes various activities such as building a lunar base camp, creating a pinhole camera, storytime, interactive eclipse shows and more. Ticket prices for non-members start at $37.95 for ages 12 and older and $26.95 for kids ages four to eleven granting full access to the museum and programming.

During this event, rooftop access at Frost Science will be limited to active members on a first-come-first-served basis only. Don’t miss out on witnessing this unique astronomical phenomenon and learning more about it through Frost Science’s special programming!
