Expanding Access to Pediatric Mental Health Services: The Clarity Child Guidance Center’s New Facility Opens on Northeast Side of San Antonio

New inpatient pediatric mental health facility now available for patients

The Clarity Child Guidance Center recently opened a new in-patient facility dedicated to pediatric mental health patients on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. During a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the center showcased its Methodist Healthcare Ministries Living Unit, which includes an eight-room pediatric psychiatric intensive care unit. This unit is designed to provide mental health services to children between the ages of three and 17 years old who need them.

The expansion project was prompted by the growing demand for child mental health services, exacerbated by the challenges posed by the pandemic. The new facility features private rooms, a secure courtyard, and ample space for children to receive the care they need. In addition to the ICU, the facility also has a newly renovated kitchen, made possible by a $7 million Heroes Campaign that raised funds for the project.

This new facility represents a significant step forward in addressing the mental health needs of pediatric patients in San Antonio. The Clarity Child Guidance Center is committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and adolescents struggling with mental health issues. By expanding their services and facilities, they are better equipped to meet the growing demand for pediatric mental health care in the community.
