Exeter City Extends Contract of Midfielder Caleb Watts until January 2025

Watts signs contract extension with Exeter City

Exeter City midfielder Caleb Watts recently signed a contract extension that will keep him at St James Park until January 2025. The 22-year-old initially joined the League One side on a short-term deal last September and extended it until the end of the season in January.

Watts, who joined Exeter from Southampton on a free transfer, had represented Australia at the last Olympic Games. Despite facing some disappointments in the previous season due to injuries, Watts showed great tenacity and hard work when he was fit and playing. Exeter boss Gary Caldwell expressed his confidence in Watts, highlighting his determination and work ethic on the field.

Caldwell mentioned that although Watts had a challenging season last year, the club wanted to offer him another contract to give him the opportunity to prove himself in a highly competitive position. The new contract extension until January provides Watts with the chance to continue showcasing his abilities and contribute to the team’s success on the field. With his commitment and potential, Watts will hope to build on his impressive start at Exeter and further establish himself as a key player for the club.
