Florida State is predicted to land top recruit Nicolas Clayton, a three-star class of 2025 edge rusher and top target for the Wisconsin Badgers football team. Zach Blostein of Noles247 made this crystal ball prediction on Thursday. Clayton announced through his X account that he will announce his college commitment on Saturday, June 22 at 3 p.m. EST, 2 p.m. CST.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, Clayton had an impressive junior season at F.W. Buchholz High School, where he recorded 51 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The Gainsville native has been closely tied to Florida State but there is still a possibility he could choose Wisconsin as his college destination. The Badgers have already secured 20 verbal commitments in their class of 2025, with 12 of them being defensive players. Notable recruits include four-star linebacker Mason Posa from Albuquerque, NM and three-star cornerback Rukeem Stroud from Tampa, FL. It remains to be seen which school will ultimately win over Clayton’s commitment but one thing is certain – the story about this recruitment will continue to generate buzz until the announcement day on June 22nd.
