Excellence and Growth in North Dakota: Recognizing Outstanding Business Centers, Awarding Innovative Workforce Solutions and Expanding Child Care Services

The North Dakota Women’s Business Center has been recognized with the 2024 Women Business Center of Excellence Award for Region 8 for its outstanding performance, innovative approaches, and dedication to its clients. The center has demonstrated excellence in supporting women entrepreneurs and helping them succeed in their business ventures.

In another initiative, the North Dakota Department of Commerce has awarded $4,288,345 to 13 organizations through the Regional Workforce Impact Program in Round 2. This program aims to assist regional workforce entities in North Dakota in developing and implementing innovative strategies to tackle the most critical workforce challenges in their respective regions.

Among the recipients of these grants are the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC, which received $100,000 to create video testimonials and drone footage promoting the area’s growth and lifestyle to attract new talent. Additionally, Community Church Child Care was granted $428,045 for Phase Two of its child care center project, expanding its services by adding 50 full-time slots. The Enrichment Garden also received $500,000 to expand its child care facility in northwest Bismarck and accommodate 30 more child care slots.

Furthermore, the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency has distributed $200,000 through its Helping Housing Across North Dakota program. Recipients of the 2024 Helping HAND grants include Community Action Program Region VII in Bismarck, which received $30,969
