Ex-Milan Midfielder Aster Vranckx on the Brink of Fiorentina Return in €10m Deal

Fiorentina Looking to Finalize 10m Vranckx Deal with Wolfsburg

Fiorentina are close to finalizing a deal to bring former Milan midfielder Aster Vranckx back to Serie A in a transfer that could be worth up to €10m including add-ons with Wolfsburg. Vranckx, who is 21 years old, had a relatively unremarkable loan spell with Milan during the 2022-23 season and chose not to activate the €12m buy option, returning to Wolfsburg instead.

Vranckx’s contract with Wolfsburg is set to expire in June 2025 and the German club is under pressure to make a sale and turn a profit on the midfielder. According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Vranckx has already agreed to personal terms with Fiorentina and is eager to make the move back to Serie A. The two clubs are close to reaching an agreement on a fee, with Fiorentina likely to pay around €7m plus bonuses to meet Wolfsburg’s €10m asking price.

Vranckx is currently with the Belgian national team in Germany for EURO 2024, showcasing his talents on the international stage. Fiorentina, under the guidance of new coach Raffaele Palladino, are in the process of reshaping their squad and see Vranckx as a versatile option in central midfield. Vranckx’s return to Serie A could be a fresh start for the young midfielder as he looks to make a bigger impact in Italy this time around.
