Everton’s Focus on Securing Key Player Contracts for 2023-24 Season”.

Calvert-Lewin in discussions with Everton over contract renewal

As Everton prepare for the upcoming season, the club is focused on securing new contracts for key players. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ashley Young are currently in talks with the club regarding their expiring deals.

Calvert-Lewin, 27, has been with Everton since 2016 and has scored a total of 68 goals in 248 games for the club. His impressive performances last season included four goals in his last seven games. The club is eager to keep him at Goodison Park and negotiations are ongoing.

Young, 38, joined Everton on a free transfer last summer and played 31 Premier League games in the 2023-24 season. He is also a valuable asset to the team and discussions for a new contract have started.

While negotiations continue, Everton is also focusing on retaining key players and avoiding selling them below their market value. Director of football Kevin Thelwell has emphasized the need for financial responsibility given the current situation at the club.

Jarrad Branthwaite has attracted interest from other clubs, including Manchester United, but Everton has placed an £80m price tag on him to deter potential suitors. The club is determined to keep their prized asset at Goodison Park.

On the transfer front, Everton is exploring loan deals to strengthen their squad. They are interested in bringing in midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City on a temporary basis and are also in talks with Leeds winger Jack Harrison about another loan deal.
