European Citizens Speak Out: Housing Crisis, Climate Change, Economy Top Concerns as EU Elections Approach

Euronews correspondents in Brussels spoke to European citizens ahead of the EU vote to learn about their main concerns. One Irish man interviewed by Euronews expressed his concerns about the housing crisis and cost of living crisis in his country. He felt that politicians, especially those in the European Parliament, were not taking these issues seriously. Another priority for some Europeans is climate change. A teacher from Germany emphasized the need for the European Union to become climate neutral and to actively work towards achieving this goal. She also highlighted the importance of making climate awareness socially acceptable.

Chief analyst of the Euronews Polls Centre, Boyd Wagner, stated that the economy is one of the top concerns for Europeans as they prepare to choose their next representatives this weekend. Migration also remains a hot topic for residents across all European countries. From economic concerns to migration and climate change, voters are looking to elect representatives who will address these pressing issues effectively. Watch the full report in the player above for more insights from European citizens on their priorities leading up to the EU vote.
