EU Enhances Global Competitiveness at Hannover Messe: European Energy Day Highlights Clean, Accessible, and Safe Energy

Competitiveness and Energy Innovation in Focus: European Commission at the Hannover Fair 2024

From April 22 to 26, the European Commission will be attending the Hannover Messe, one of the largest industrial fairs in the world. The focus of their participation will be on enhancing the EU’s competitive edge in the global economy.

The first day of the fair will include a conference, presentations, and round tables in the stand auditorium. Each day will have a different theme. Attendees will also have access to a support corner where they can speak with experts about industry-related policies and financing opportunities.

On April 24, European Energy Day will take place with the theme “Clean, accessible and safe energy.” Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Deputy Director General of the Energy DG, will participate in a one-day conference that covers topics such as EU policy framework, industrial competitiveness in energy sector, European Wind Energy Package, European Grids Action Plan, biomethane hydrogen solar energy sustainable batteries and energy efficiency. A new voluntary initiative called “Code of Practice on Interoperable Smart Energy Appliances” will also be introduced during this session.

All 8 sessions of European Energy Day will be live-streamed on DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs website providing stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about latest developments in European energy sector and interact with experts in this field.
