This accolade not only signifies the beauty of a beach but also represents a commitment to sustainability and excellent amenities.
To be awarded a Blue Flag, a municipality typically applies for the designation, which is then reviewed by both national and international juries made up of distinguished members from various organizations. The award is granted for a single sailing/bathing season, usually from June to September, and must be renewed each season to ensure that beaches maintain the required standards.
