Erie County Community Health Center Receives $4.3 Million Grant to Continue Providing Comprehensive Health Services

The Erie County Community Health Center is the only comprehensive Federally Qualified Health Center in the tri-county area that includes Erie, Huron, and Ottawa counties. This center has received $4,334,730 in funding from the Health Resources and Services Agency (HRSA) to continue providing primary care, dental, and mental health services through its eight locations across the region.

Federally Qualified Health Centers play a crucial role in public health infrastructure by aiming to improve the health of underserved communities through comprehensive, culturally competent, and high-quality primary health care services. Erie County Health Commissioner Pete Schade expressed gratitude for the grant and emphasized the importance of collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the health and well-being of all residents in the tri-county area.

The grant period for the Erie County Community Health Center will run from June 2024 to May 2027. HRSA supports nonprofit organizations that provide primary health care services to medically underserved populations through its Health Center Program.
