Englewood Health Celebrates Recognition as an ‘Equality Builder’ in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Inclusivity

Geller expresses pride in Englewood Health’s recognition as an Equality Builder

Englewood Health has been designated as an “Equality Builder” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2024 Healthcare Equality Index. The hospital’s CEO, Warren Geller, proudly announced this achievement, expressing deep honor in receiving the recognition.

The HEI is a leading tool for measuring LGBTQ+ inclusive policies and practices in health care facilities nationwide, and it evaluated 1,065 facilities across the U.S., with Englewood Health being one of fewer than 50 facilities in New Jersey that participated in the evaluation.

Anita Ramsetty, the director of health equity at Englewood Health, commended the ongoing efforts to implement inclusive policies and aim to exceed standards for LGBTQ+ inclusion. Ramsetty said that the hospital officials credited the dedicated efforts of the Diversity & Inclusion Education Council and Population Health team for shaping progress in LGBTQ+ inclusive practices. Both teams have played a crucial role in integrating LGBTQ+ inclusive practices across employee training, clinical care, and community outreach initiatives at Englewood Health.
