England’s Provisional Euro 2024 Squad Member, Chelsea’s Gallagher Faces Uncertainty Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

Villa keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Gallagher

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has been named to England’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, but his future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract. The 24-year-old has not made progress in renewing his deal with the club, and several clubs, including Aston Villa and Tottenham, are interested in signing him.

Gallagher, who joined Chelsea at the age of eight, is open to staying with his boyhood club despite interest from other clubs. However, Chelsea and Villa will need to consider Premier League profit and sustainability rules when making summer transfer decisions.

The sale of academy products like Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen, and Armando Broja could help free up funds for Chelsea to make new signings. Villa, who have qualified for the Champions League, also need to be mindful of financial restrictions when pursuing new players.

Chelsea had shown interest in Villa striker Jhon Duran in the past and is looking to bolster their attacking options this summer. They are also set to sign Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer as they prepare for the upcoming season.
