A recent international report has shown that England has the highest rates of under-age drinking in the world, with girls in the UK drinking, smoking, and vaping more than boys. The study, conducted by the World Health Organisation, looked at data from 280,000 children aged 11, 13, and 15 from 44 countries. It found that two-fifths of girls in England and Scotland have vaped by the age of 15, a higher percentage than in many other developed countries.

Meanwhile, Shetland’s SaxaVord Spaceport has received a crucial safety license from the Civil Aviation Authority. This range control license allows the spaceport to clear and control the downrange zone during launches, ensuring the safety of maritime and aviation traffic during rocket launches from the Shetland Islands.

In other news, new ESA astronaut Rosemary Coogan from the UK is currently undergoing training in microgravity. She recently experienced her first parabolic flight on Airbus’s Zero G A310 plane, where short periods of weightlessness were created for training purposes. The astronauts had to learn how to adapt to microgravity conditions and perform tasks like CPR while anchored upside down.

Additionally, a study has found that breast cancer survivors are at a significant risk of developing entirely new cancers. Meta shares have fallen after revealing their spending plans, and it has been reported that over half of the world’s population could be at risk of mosquito-borne diseases. Plus, research has suggested that one’s surname could impact their education and career prospects. To learn more about these topics and more
