England Defeats Namibia in Rain-Shortened T20 World Cup Game, Boosting their Net Run Rate

In the rain-shortened 11-over game between Namibia and England, it was the latter that emerged victorious in Match 34 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bat first against Gerhard Erasmus’ Namibia.

After a sluggish start to the tournament, England bounced back with a crucial win over Oman. This victory boosted their Net Run Rate significantly and put them back in contention for a spot in the Super 8 stage. With this win under their belts, they will be looking to maintain their momentum against Namibia. Buttler will be pleased with his team’s improved bowling performance and strong batting firepower at the top of the order.

Namibia, on the other hand, will be determined to end their campaign on a high note by disrupting England’s plans in the group stage. Players like Gerhard Erasmus, JJ Smit, and David Wiese are all key members of their lineup. They will be hoping to put up a strong fight against the English side.

The playing XI for Namibia included Nikolaas Davin, Michael van Lingen, and Jan Frylinck while England fielded a strong lineup with Philip Salt, Jonny Bairstow, and Moeen Ali. Follow live score updates of ENG vs NAM match to see how this crucial encounter unfolds in T20 World Cup 2024.
