Encouraging Entrepreneurship in Children: The Growing Success of Acton Academy’s Annual Children’s Business Fair in Lincoln, Nebraska

Lincoln Children’s Business Fair Encourages Young Entrepreneurs

In Lincoln, Nebraska, Acton Academy hosted their annual children’s business fair for the fourth time in a row. This year, 70 businesses were accepted to participate in the fair, offering a variety of products and services from face painting to homemade goodies.

The kids involved in the fair were required to research costs, determine pricing strategies, and develop their marketing plans as part of the application process. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the basics of running a business and engage with customers effectively.

Zach Harsin, co-founder of Acton Academy, emphasized the importance of the application process in preparing the young entrepreneurs for the fair. By encouraging kids to think critically about their business ideas and develop a plan of action, the program aims to foster creativity, responsibility, and entrepreneurial skills in children from a young age.

The children’s business fair saw its highest number of participating businesses this year and Acton Academy hopes to continue growing the event in the future. The event provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, learn valuable skills and gain confidence in their abilities to succeed in the business world.
