Renee Nutter, a Clark County native, was honored by the National Utility Contractors Association with the 2024 “We Dig America” Award. Nutter is the founder of Dozer Day, an event that provides children and students with hands-on exposure to construction careers. The Nutter Family Foundation, which acquired the rights to the Dozer Day brand in 2008, has expanded the event to locations such as Kansas City, MO and Hendersonville, TN. To date, the foundation has reinvested $2.2 million into the communities where Dozer Day is held.
In February, Governor Jay Inslee appointed multiple Clark County residents to boards and commissions. Libby Mongue-Wymore of Vancouver was appointed to the Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment, Carolyn Sowdon of Vancouver was appointed to the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment, and Tracy Stanley of La Center was appointed to the State Investment Board.
