Empowering Young Minds: Nebraska Medical Center Hosts Youth Mental Health First Aid Training in Spanish

The Globe offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

On April 20th, the University of Nebraska Medical Center will be hosting a training on Youth Mental Health First Aid at the Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom. This program is specifically designed for individuals who work with young people and will be conducted in Spanish. Participants will gain valuable skills to identify signs of mental illness, recognize substance use disorder, offer support during a mental health crisis, and have conversations about mental health with family and friends.

The training is open to adults only and will include a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and lunch. Attendees will also receive a $25 gift card and a certificate of participation upon completion. The facilitators leading the training are an outreach project specialist and a Ph.D. student from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
