Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is dedicated to fostering physical activity and cultural awareness among Native American youth. During the American Indian Boarding School era, Native children were forcibly taken away from their homes and placed in boarding schools by the U.S. government. This led to severe abuse, trauma, and the suppression of their languages and traditions. OKCIC is committed to healing this generational trauma by providing programs that teach today’s youth the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while honoring their heritage.
