Larimer County Behavioral Health Now Accepting Applications for $2.8M in Grants – BizWest

The Larimer County Behavioral Health Services has launched the application period for the 2024 Impact Fund Grant Program, which aims to meet the pressing behavioral health needs of the community. This marks the sixth year of the program, demonstrating a continued commitment to promoting a healthier and more resilient community through funding specifically designated for behavioral health programs in Larimer County.

The Human and Economic Health Director, Laura Walker, expressed pride in launching the fund and emphasized the importance of addressing behavioral health needs in the community. She stated that “Our goal is to provide resources for organizations to create innovative solutions to complex issues facing our residents.”

$2.8 million in funding for the grants is generated from a percentage of the annual sales-and-use tax. This funding was defined by a 2018 ballot initiative that allocated money specifically for behavioral health purposes. The grant program is designed to support programs that benefit the residents of Larimer County and address critical behavioral health issues.

The grants will be distributed through two categories: Targeted and Responsive. Targeted Grants will focus on specific areas identified by the department’s advisory bodies, including care coordination, workforce support, interventions in criminal justice, services in diverse settings, and child and youth services. The Gary A. Darling Grant Award will recognize one exceptional program that applies for funding under the Alternatives and Interventions in Criminal Justice category.

Responsive Grants are available for organizations proposing innovative behavioral health programs that address community needs outside the defined Targeted Grant areas. Applicants must demonstrate how their proposed program aligns with Larimer County’s priority areas of need while also contributing to building a healthy community. The deadline for submitting applications to the Impact Fund Grant Program is 5 p.m on June 30th More information about this program can be found on their webpage at [Insert Link].
