Girls 4 Science Unveils Summer Saturday STEM Academy Launch

Girls 4 Science, an organization dedicated to empowering young girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), is thrilled to announce the launch of its Summer Saturday STEM Academy focusing on Mechanics. The program is tailored for girls aged 10-18 and aims to provide hands-on experiences in various STEM disciplines, fostering a love for discovery and innovation.

Through interactive workshops and experiments, participants will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and scientific curiosity. The Girls 4 Science Saturday STEM Academy is committed to closing the gender gap in STEM fields by providing a supportive learning environment where girls can explore their interests and enhance their skills.

Jackie Lomax, Founder and Executive Director of Girls 4 Science, believes that every girl has the potential to succeed in STEM. She stated, “With our Saturday STEM Academy, we are equipping young girls with the necessary tools, resources, and encouragement to excel in these fields and become the next generation of innovators and leaders.”

The Summer session of the Saturday STEM Academy will focus on the theme of manufacturing and will cover a wide range of topics. Experienced instructors and STEM professionals will lead the sessions, providing personalized guidance and real-world insights into STEM concepts.

Interested participants are welcome to join at no cost. The Academy will be hosted at Malcolm X College, Joliet Junior College, and Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences from July 6th to August 10th from July 6th to August 10th in 2024.
