Baton Rouge Conference to Assist Business Owners: Dates and Location

In Baton Rouge, a business conference is taking place with the goal of helping small businesses succeed. The event, named “EmpowerED Entrepreneurs: Accelerating Success” Small Business Training Conference, will take place on July 14-15 at the Renaissance Hotel on Bluebonnet Blvd.

The conference will begin with a Small Business Awards Reception on Sunday, July 14 from 6-8 p.m., followed by a full day of training sessions on Monday, July 15 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. This event is designed to provide small and minority-owned businesses with the training and resources they need to succeed, with over 20 different knowledge sessions available for attendees to take advantage of.

Notable speakers at the conference include Henry Coaxum Jr., a successful real estate developer and philanthropist based in New Orleans who was once the owner of 147 McDonald’s restaurants, Nortisha Kirts Glover, the owner of NRK Construction, and Eric Porter, an entrepreneur and instructor at Southern University. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about maximizing their government contracting strategy from Derrick Surrat, the founder of the Federal Forecasting application.
