Embraer Welcomes Aviation Maintenance Technology Graduates with Promising Job Opportunities in the Aerospace Industry.

Embraer, a leading aerospace corporation, has welcomed the first round of graduating students from Marshall University and Mountwest Community and Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program. These students have now signed employment agreements with Embraer in Huntington, West Virginia. Monica Newman McCluney, head of U.S. corporate social responsibility and the Embraer foundation, expressed her pride in seeing the growth and success of these students over the past 18 months.

The program launched in 2022 and offers students a unique learning experience that covers a wide range of skills such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Students also earn multiple certifications throughout the program. James Smith, director of the program, highlighted the hands-on approach that equips students with industry-level skills. One student, Devin LeMaster, shared his excitement about starting his position as a line maintenance technician at Embraer in Nashville, one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers. He will be responsible for heavy checks, inspections, and more.
