Embiid’s Return Could Make or Break Philadelphia 76ers’ Playoff Hopes

Joel Embiid may be back in action for the 76ers against the Thunder on Tuesday, according to reports.

The Philadelphia 76ers may see the return of Joel Embiid to the court on Tuesday night, according to reports from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania. If not, it is expected that he will make a comeback at some point in the following week before the end of the regular season.

Embiid has been out since February 1 after undergoing surgery for a torn left lateral meniscus. Prior to his injury, he was having an outstanding season, averaging MVP-level performance with 35.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.

Philadelphia has struggled without Embiid, going 11-18 and dropping to the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. To secure a spot in the playoffs, they will likely have to go through the Play-In Tournament and face off against either Boston or Milwaukee in the first round. The team currently trails the No. 7 seed Heat by 1.5 games and the No. 6 seed Pacers by two games with only seven games remaining.

Despite these challenges, it is believed that Philadelphia will make it out of the Play-In Tournament with a healthy Embiid joining forces with Tyrese Maxey and other members of their team to take on top opponents like Boston and Milwaukee in the playoffs.
