Martha and Spencer, Love School of Business Dean, to Step Down

Raghu Tadepalli, the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business Dean, has announced his departure from his role after 12 years in the position. His tenure as dean will come to an end after the 2024-25 academic year, and Elon University will begin searching for a replacement in fall 2024. This is the sixth senior staff member to leave their position within the past two years, including former College of Arts and Sciences Dean Gabie Smith.

Despite leaving his deanship, Tadepalli will be returning to Elon University in the 2026-27 academic year after taking a yearlong sabbatical to serve as dean emeritus and special assistant to President Connie Book. As a scholar in marketing, Tadepalli has made significant contributions to the field, including numerous peer-reviewed articles.

During his tenure as dean of the Love Business School, Tadepalli accomplished many notable feats. One of his most significant achievements was expanding the number of faculty, staff, and students attending the school of business. At the start of his deanship, there were 1,356 students enrolled in business majors compared to the now 2,145 students. Additionally, he achieved three accreditations for the school of business by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The most recent accreditation happened on April 3rd. Moreover, under Tadepalli’s leadership, six new undergraduate majors were added to expand the school’s degree offerings: Business Analytics, Project Management
