Elephant Chases Car, Kills American Tourist in Zambia

80-year-old American tourist killed in elephant attack while on safari

Last weekend, an 80-year-old American woman was tragically killed by an elephant during a car safari in Zambia. The woman, along with five other tourists, had been chased by the elephant for hundreds of meters until the driver had to stop the vehicle due to a road blockade.

One of the tourists caught the chase on film before it was too late, and shocking images of the incident have been circulating on social media. The elephant had become separated from its herd and unexpectedly started chasing the tourists as they were guided through the Kafue National Park.

The CEO of the company that organized the safari expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family and provided support to the other tourists and guide involved in the incident. The company is also investigating further to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The other tourists sustained minor injuries and are receiving trauma counseling, while one tourist was evacuated to a hospital in South Africa with serious injuries. It is truly a tragic reminder of how unpredictable nature can be when we venture into its territory.
