El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Two for Business Burglaries in Unincorporated Area

Two individuals detained in connection with series of business break-ins in El Paso County

On May 8, 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) started investigating a series of business burglaries in the 6000 block of Bismark Rd. in an unincorporated area of the county. During the investigation, deputies learned that one of the businesses had a stolen check being cashed, leading them to arrest 49-year-old Kerry Sherow at a local bank.

Further investigation and interviews with Sherow led deputies to identify the main suspect in the burglaries as 44-year-old Franklin Alexander. A search warrant was executed at Alexander’s home, where items related to the Bismark Rd. burglaries and other burglaries in Colorado Springs were found. The EPCSO indicated that evidence ties Alexander to at least 10 other burglaries in El Paso County. He is currently in custody at the El Paso County Jail on a $25,000 bond for burglary. Kerry Sherow is also being held on a $2,000 bond for identity theft.

The EPCSO is urging residents and business owners to be cautious and report any suspicious activity immediately. They also encourage people to take precautions such as installing security cameras and keeping their valuables safe. If anyone has any information about these crimes or any other crimes happening in their community, they can contact the EPCSO at (719) 351-5788 or visit their website at https://www.elpasocounty-co.gov/Sheriff/CrimePrevention/.
