Egypt: Strengthening Food Security

Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, has announced that the Ministry is taking proactive measures to secure essential commodities and establish a strategic reserve. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, efforts to enhance the strategic reserve were discussed, with Al-Moselhi highlighting the Ministry’s successful wheat supply operations and its stockpile of oil.

The government’s initiatives aim to stabilize prices and ensure food security for its citizens. By securing key commodities like sugar, wheat, and oil, the government is taking important steps to mitigate the impact of any potential disruptions in the market. The strategic reserve will also help in times of crisis or fluctuations in the market.

“Our goal is to maintain stability and promote food security,” said Al-Moselhi. “We are committed to proactively managing supplies and ensuring that our citizens have access to essential commodities at reasonable prices.”

The government’s approach has been praised by experts who believe it is crucial for maintaining stability in Egypt’s economy and promoting food security for its citizens. “By building up strategic reserves, Egypt is taking an important step towards ensuring its economic stability and protecting its citizens from potential disruptions in the market,” said one expert. “These measures will also help in times of crisis or fluctuations in the market.”
