The township of Edison is set to repair and upgrade sports courts at nine parks by the middle of summer. Bids for the work, which includes crack repairs and resurfacing the courts, are currently being sought. The bids are due by April 30, and the township council will review them before awarding the contract. Once the contract is awarded, the work is expected to be completed within 90 days.
Sports courts across Edison will be restored as part of this project, including those at Bernard L. Dwyer Park, Minnie B. Veal/Elder Park, Hale Park, Yelencsics Park, Winter Street Park, Central Avenue Park, Paterniti Park, Thomas Swales Park, and North Eighth Avenue tennis courts. The work will involve clearing and grading, removal of existing features like trees and stumps, pavement removal, crack repairs, installation of new asphalt base and surface courses
