Eden Prairie Lacrosse Teams Dominate Sectional Playoffs, Advance to Championship Matches

EPHS Lacrosse Teams to Compete in Section Championships

The high school lacrosse teams from Eden Prairie secured important wins on Monday to advance to their respective section championships. The girls’ team, ranked No. 1, defeated Chanhassen with a score of 11-8 in the Section 2A semifinals. Senior Avery Wallace scored five goals during the game, achieving a personal milestone with her 100th career goal. The girls will face Minnetonka in the Section 2A championship match on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

On the boys’ side, the No. 4 Eden Prairie team won an exciting game against top-seeded Prior Lake in the Section 6A semifinals with a final score of 8-7. Despite trailing 5-2 at halftime, the Eagles had a strong second half, with senior Danny Burke leading the scoring with three goals, including the game-winning eighth goal. Burke’s impressive goal saw him maneuver past two defenders and the goalie to secure victory for his team. The boys’ team will now travel to Edina for the Section 6A championship on Wednesday night.
