Eco-Friendly Electronic Waste Disposal: Montague County Emergency Communications Team Hosts E-recycling Day on April 13

Bowie Business Boost III delves into marketing strategies – Bowie News

The Montague County Emergency Communications Team is hosting a computer E-recycling day on April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bowie City Hall parking lot. This event offers a perfect opportunity for individuals to clean up their unwanted computer components and ensure they are disposed of properly and in an environmentally friendly manner.

During the event, the organizers will destroy any computer hard drives to prevent unauthorized access to personal information stored on them. Examples of items that can be recycled include desktop computers, laptop computers, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice, scanners, printers, and battery back-up units. If you’re unsure about how to dispose of these items safely, this event is an excellent solution.

In addition to computer components, the E-recycle day can also accept sealed lead acid (SLA), nickel cadmium (NiCad), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), and lithium ion (Li-Ion) batteries for recycling. However, alkaline batteries or computer monitors/TVs with cathode ray tubes (CRTs) cannot be accepted. This event is a public service offered at no cost to the community, and any proceeds will benefit the Montague Emergency Communications Team and the Montague County SKYWARN program.
