Bill Nye, the Science Guy, to Headline 2-Day Eclipse Festival in Fredericksburg

Bill Nye the Science Guy is coming to Fredericksburg, Texas for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th. This event, known as Eclipse-O-Rama 2024, is being hosted by The Planetary Society and will be a two-day camping festival that focuses on space-related topics and hosts an eclipse viewing party.

Fredericksburg is one of the best locations to view the eclipse as it falls within the path of totality. The totality phase will start at 1:32:57 p.m. and last for about 4 minutes and 25 seconds. The festival will take place at The Lodge at Country Inn on April 7th and 8th, with tickets costing $325 per person. Children under five can attend for free, while additional options like VIP welcome reception, dinner, shower passes, accommodations such as hotels, campsites, and RV slots are available for an extra fee.

Apart from Bill Nye, who is also the CEO of The Planetary Society, other celebrity guests attending this festival include Tim Dodd, Bob Pflugfelder (Science Bob), YouTuber Mark Rober, Astronomer Heidi Hammel, Planetary Society President Bethany Ehlmann, and Chief Scientist Bruce Betts. The festival will kick off with a welcome ceremony on Sunday and continue with science sessions and screenings until Monday when the eclipse viewing party will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a star-watching party later that night.
