Eau Claire Health Department Seeks Public Help to Locate Rabid Dog Following Hotel Biting Incident

Health department in Eau Claire city and county remains on the lookout for the dog that bit a man

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, at around 5:30 p.m., a man was bitten by a dog at the Maple Manor Hotel in Eau Claire, Wis. The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is seeking assistance from the public to locate the dog and ensure that it is up to date on its rabies vaccinations.

The Health Department shared a photo of the dog in an updated press release and expressed their desire to speak with the owner of the dog. The incident occurred between South Hastings Way and US Highway 53, and the dog is described as a large, brown shepherd-type breed.
