The Eagles were able to trade Reddick after signing former Jets edge rusher Bryce Huff in free agency, adding depth to their defense. Two weeks ago, Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick agreed to delay a $1 million roster bonus until April 1, allowing the team more time to potentially find a trade partner.
On Friday, it was reported that the Eagles have traded Reddick to the Jets for a conditional third-round pick that could escalate to a second-round pick, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. The Jets are expected to extend Reddickâs contract and will take on $14.5 million of his compensation for the 2024 season, the final year of his deal. The Eagles will still pay the $1 million roster bonus as part of the trade agreement.
Reddick is 29 years old and has had double-digit sack seasons for four consecutive years. Prior to joining the Eagles, he spent time with the Arizona Cardinals for four seasons and the Carolina Panthers for one season. He started every game during his two seasons with the Eagles and earned 27 sacks along with two Pro Bowl selections.
