The Eagles concluded their mandatory minicamp on Thursday and officially signed their top pick from April, cornerback Quinyon Mitchell. Mitchell, who played at Toledo, broke up 38 passes and recorded six interceptions during his time there, including a standout four-interception game in the 2022 season. With Mitchell now under contract, the Eagles are eager to see him compete for a spot in their secondary alongside veterans Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, and James Bradberry.
In addition to Mitchell, the Eagles also added safety Cooper DeJean in the second round of the draft. Both rookies will be looking to make an impact in the secondary during the upcoming season, adding depth and competition to the defense. Overall, the Eagles are optimistic about their draft picks and are looking forward to seeing how they perform in their first season in the NFL.
