Eagles and Cowboys Engage in Talks to Reunite Ezekiel Elliott, as He Signs with Titans

Cowboys Discuss Contract with Ezekiel Elliott’s Representative

The Cowboys are in talks with Ezekiel Elliott’s representative, as reported by Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. It is noteworthy that ESPN has also noted that there is mutual interest in a potential reunion between Elliott and the team after he spent the 2023 season with the Patriots. This news comes as Tony Pollard, a veteran running back, signed with the Titans as a free agent.

Ezekiel Elliott was drafted fourth overall in 2016 and played seven seasons with the Cowboys up until 2022. During his time with the team, Elliott made headlines when he held out for a new contract in his third NFL season. Eventually, he secured a deal with favorable structure that kept him on the team longer than expected.

While playing for the Cowboys, Elliott earned several accolades including All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods as a rookie and continued to receive recognition throughout his career. His most outstanding season was during his rookie year when he recorded 1,631 rushing yards at an average of 5.1 yards per carry and had 16 total touchdowns. However, since then, Elliott has only had one 1,000-yard season with 1,002 yards in 2021. Last year saw his performance dip to 642 yards on 184 carries resulting in a career-low average of 3.5 yards per carry.
