E. coli Bacteria Prompt Recall of Reblochon de Savoie at Carrefour Stores

Recall of Reblochon cheese contaminated with E. coli and sold at Carrefour stores nationwide in France

This week, it was reported by Rappel Conso that several batches of Reblochon de Savoie sold between May 23 and 24 at Carrefour stores have been recalled due to the presence of E. coli bacteria. The affected products are the 230 g Pochat Pointe Percée half-reblochons with a minimum durability date of June 14, 2024 and the batch number 145184212. Consumers are advised not to consume this product and to either destroy it or return it to the point of sale. The recall is due to the presence of “E. coli STEC strain O103: H2,” which can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, and potentially severe renal complications, particularly in children. If symptoms develop within a week of consuming the product, individuals should consult a doctor immediately and mention the consumption of the affected product. Those who purchased the recalled Reblochon may be eligible for a refund. The recall is valid until June 14, 2024.
