The NFL’s 2024 schedule is set to break from tradition with CBS and Fox hosting doubleheaders on the same weekend. In past seasons, only one of the networks has held a doubleheader with late games starting at 4:25 p.m. ET, and one of them being broadcast across most of the country. However, this year, both CBS and Fox will have dueling doubleheaders in Weeks 15 and 18 of the schedule.
Executive vice president of NFL Media, Hans Schroeder, explained that this change allows for a better sense of where all the teams are and how to get the right teams into those windows. It also provides more flexibility to showcase teams that may have played their way into a more prominent position later in the season.
In Week 15, CBS will air Patriots at Cardinals, Colts at Broncos, and Bills at Lions at 4:25 p.m. ET while Fox will feature Buccaneers at Chargers and Steelers at Eagles. This adjustment in the schedule reflects the NFL’s commitment to continually tweaking and evolving to provide fans with an optimal viewing experience throughout the season.
Overall, this change in scheduling should provide fans with an exciting new viewing experience as they watch their favorite teams battle it out on the field.
