Double Trouble: Sonoma Raceway Hosts Two NASCAR Series this Weekend

Weekend Schedule for NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Races at Sonoma

Sonoma Raceway in Northern California is set to host two national NASCAR series this weekend, including the Xfinity and Cup teams. The Xfinity teams will be racing at the road course for only the second time, with Aric Almirola being the winner of last season’s Xfinity race at Sonoma. Meanwhile, the Cup teams will be racing at Sonoma for the 35th time, with Martin Truex Jr. as the defending winner.

On Friday, track activities begin with ARCA West practice followed by qualifying. The day continues with Xfinity and Cup series practice sessions, leading up to the ARCA West race in the evening. On Saturday, garage activities open early for Xfinity and Cup qualifying, followed by the Xfinity race in the evening. Finally, on Sunday, garage activities open once again for the Cup race, which is set to be an exciting 110 lap, 218.9-mile challenge for the drivers.

The weather forecast for the weekend looks promising, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures reaching up to 79 degrees.
