Double Trouble: Low-Pressure System and Channel Bring Heavy Rains to Multiple Regions in Mexico

In the Gulf of Mexico, a low-pressure system with the potential to develop into a hurricane will move over the coasts of Tamaulipas in northeastern Mexico. The circulation of this system interacting with the monsoon trough will cause occasional heavy rains in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, and Veracruz, as well as intense occasional rains in Coahuila. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued warnings for these areas as strong to very strong winds will affect regions in northwest Mexico’s tablelands and central regions.
