The Erie Times-News reported on Monday that Mercyhurst Prep baseball secured a season sweep of Fairview with a 6-3 victory. Hunter Krahe pitched 5 2/3 innings, while Josh Majczyk hit a three-run home run to help lead the Lakers to victory. After the game, coach Randy Durkoske and players shared their thoughts on the win.
On Monday, at Westwood Racquet Club, the District 10 singles tournament championship results were held in boys tennis action. In the Class 2A division, Cathedral Prep’s Jonah Ng defeated teammate Gavin Ferretti with a score of 6-1, 6-0. In the Class 3A division, Erie High’s John Sinnott emerged victorious over McDowell’s Gridley Wright with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
