Dolby Atmos Takes Listeners on a Journey through the World’s Most Endangered Sonic Wonders in New Album

First Album Pays Homage to the Seven Sonic Wonders

Dolby Laboratories has created the first album that pays tribute to seven endangered sonic wonders, in collaboration with award-winning composer Nainita Desai and wildlife sounds technician Chris Watson. The album, titled “Seven Sonic Wonders,” features a musical score by Desai and collects the sound of some of the world’s most beautiful and unique natural environments.

The criteria used to choose these sonic wonders are similar to those used for the Seven Natural Wonders, including epic natural beauty, diversity and distribution, ecological importance, historical heritage, geographical location, and embodiment of the sense of mystery. The album was mixed by Kurt Martinez with the goal of creating a deeper connection between listeners and Mother Nature.

Desai expressed her joy in working on this project, saying “I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and hear the best of nature. We often neglect the joys that the sounds of the Earth bring us compared to the sights it offers us, but they really go hand in hand.” Watson hopes that the tracks will transport listeners to the heart of these natural wonders.

The album is available now on Apple Music and royalties from its sales will go to EarthPercent, a charity that offers the music industry a way to support organizations with the greatest impact in fighting climate change. With “Seven Sonic Wonders,” Dolby Atmos helps take listeners on a journey through some of the world’s most breathtaking natural environments.
