DJI Moves Beyond Drones with New Electric Mountain Bike Line at Eurobike 2024

DJI is taking a chance on a new industry: e-bikes

DJI, a renowned manufacturer of drones and cameras, has made a foray into the electric bike industry. At the Eurobike 2024 fair, the company unveiled its new brand of electric mountain bikes, Amflow Bikes. The first model in this line, the Amflow PL, features the innovative DJI Avinox transmission system, enabling smartphone control and monitoring of cycling activity. This move by DJI underscores their commitment to integrating technology into mobility.

The Amflow PL electric mountain bike boasts a maximum power of 850W and weighs just 19.2 kilograms. Its carbon fiber frame is incredibly lightweight at only 2.27 kg, contributing to its overall design. Equipped with the DJI Avinox Drive System, the Amflow PL engine delivers 105 Nm of torque and a rated power of 250W while weighing just 2.52 kg. The advanced system automatically adjusts assistance based on terrain conditions and rider position through its array of sensors.

The bike offers several operating modes including a ‘Boost’ mode that increases torque to 120 Nm and assistance to 1000W for easier hill climbing, along with a ‘Walk’ mode that prevents rolling back and provides start-up assistance while allowing gears to be changed while stationary. The Avinox system offers two battery options: one with a capacity of 600 Wh and another with an 800 Wh capacity. The larger capacity battery weighs only 2.87 kg and can be charged from zero percent to seventy-five percent in just one hour fifty minutes thanks to its 12A/508W GaN charger.

The Amflow PL comes equipped with a FOX-optimized rear shock and is compatible with both 27.5” and 29” rear wheels
