Phoenix Science Center Unveils Exciting New Program

The Arizona Science Center has launched a new series called Spotlight on Science, aimed at adult audiences. This exciting series brings together experts from various scientific fields to discuss topics that have a significant impact on people’s lives.

The first event in this series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers – Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis,” featuring Nicholas Ashton, Ph.D., an expert in Alzheimer’s disease. This event will take place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St.

Ashton, who is the senior director of the Banner Research Biomarker Program, will explore the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s disease. He will discuss his work in developing, validating and using fluid biomarkers like cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.

The inaugural event will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, with a VIP reception held for ticket holders at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for this event range from $20 for students to $75 for a VIP experience, and can be purchased online at www.azscience.org
