22nd Annual Marine Science Day Hosted by Virginia Institute of Marine Science

William & Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science is hosting its 22nd annual Marine Science Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event is an excellent opportunity for visitors to explore the exciting world of marine science, regardless of the weather conditions.

The day will be filled with interactive exhibits, family-friendly activities, and behind-the-scenes tours of VIMS research facilities at its Gloucester Point campus. Guests can also participate in the annual Marine Life Costume Contest, which is open to all ages and offers multiple prize categories for the best marine plant or animal costumes.

VIMS researchers will lead hands-on exhibits that showcase the latest marine research and technology, while interactive tours of the entire campus provide a unique behind-the-scenes look at the institute’s cutting-edge research facilities. Visitors can also view massive specimen collections and explore marine research vessels, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of marine science.
