Multiple Businesses in Brockton MA Damaged by Overnight Fire – NBC Boston

A massive fire broke out in Brockton, Massachusetts, late Wednesday night and spread to several businesses before being mostly extinguished by Thursday morning. The fire began in a large building that housed multiple businesses before reaching a nearby home and causing minor damage to its siding.

The main structure near Main Street and East Nilsson Street sustained the most significant damage, prompting fire investigators to work on determining the cause of the blaze. Fire officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire, as the affected businesses and residents assess the damage caused by the blaze.

Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli reported that the fire was first reported around 1:30 a.m., with heavy smoke already visible when the first responders arrived. Although no major injuries were reported, emergency services did transport a woman in an ambulance. However, she remained alert and conscious throughout the incident. Two individuals were inside the building but managed to escape on their own. The building was shared by a soul food restaurant, convenience store, and beauty salon, all of which were closed at the time of the fire.

The efforts of the firefighters helped prevent further destruction and protected the surrounding area from harm. Despite facing significant challenges due to warmer temperatures during this time of year, these brave men worked tirelessly overnight to put out this devastating blaze in our community.
