In Detroit last month, Lions defensive back Brian Branch was seen using a knee scooter and wearing a walking boot. Head coach Dan Campbell recently gave an update on Branch’s condition, revealing that he had undergone a minor procedure to address an issue that the team believed could heal on its own. While Campbell did not specify the exact nature of Branch’s injury, he indicated that the 2023 second-round pick is progressing well and is expected to be ready for training camp.
The Lions are optimistic about Branch’s return to the field and believe that he will be able to build on the success he had last year, when he appeared in 18 games, starting 10 of them. In those games, Branch recorded 94 tackles, three interceptions, two sacks, and a forced fumble, making him a valuable contributor to the team’s defense. Campbell expressed confidence in Branch’s recovery and stated that the team anticipates he will be prepared to participate in camp and receive enough reps to be fully prepared for the upcoming season.
